Ben joined Reed Smith in 2012 and became a partner in January 2013.
He is an experienced commercial disputes lawyer and represents clients in complex and high value cases, including claims for fraud, breach of warranty, shareholder and debt holder disputes and a wide range of contractual and tortious business disputes often involving conflict of laws and jurisdictional issues.
Ben has represented clients before the High Court, in the Court of Appeal as well as in ad hoc commercial arbitrations and those subject to institutional rules.
Acting for a very wide client sector base, Ben has broad experience, with particular knowledge in the media, entertainment, technology, telecommunications and financial services industries. Ben regularly advises clients in these sectors on their regulatory positions, having acted for both applicant and regulator in judicial review proceedings.
Ben has also been involved in a number of high profile reviews into alleged corporate wrongdoing.
The Lawyer’s “Young Faces” feature – April 2010 – identified Ben as one of 30 of the most talented and promising practitioners in the legal market. Ben is routinely recommended for civil fraud and commercial litigation by independent legal directories and has been described in Legal 500 2013 as "very switched-on".
