Join us for a review of the current state of the early stage startup market and a look at state of the art innovations in financing early stage companies. The year 2014 has been an exciting one for emerging technology companies, with a resurgence of new financings and some very exciting exits (with increasingly frequent headlines about multi-billion of dollar valuations and exits). We’ll ask a panel of investors to look at the year and where they see the market going next. Additionally, although for years early stage financings tended toward fairly standard preferred stock financings, we’re now seeing innovation here too. In addition to more traditional convertible notes, we are seeing more startups considering new approaches like Series Seed, Y Combinator’s SAFE (Simple Agreement For Future Equity) and 500 Startups’ KISS (Keep It Simple Security). While an exciting trend, the diversity of these approaches can be confusing to both entrepreneurs and investors. Join us with an engaging panel of experts for a lively and informative discussion of these innovative startup financing trends.
