March 3, 2014 – Reed Smith LLP today announced its second consecutive appearance on Acritas’ Sharplegal US Law Firm Brand Index. Each year, Acritas ranks Biglaw firms based on feedback from general counsel at companies conducting business in the United States with annual revenue of at least $50 million.

Reed Smith earned a US Law Firm Brand Index 2014 rank of 17, eight spots above its 2013 rank.

As in previous years, the 2014 Index rankings were calculated from interviewees’ responses to open-ended questions about the first law firms to come to mind; the firms they feel most favorable toward; the firms most considered for multi-jurisdictional deals; the firms most considered for multi-jurisdictional litigation; and the firms most used overall. Interviews for this year’s Index were conducted by telephone in local languages across 55 countries between January and September as part of the ongoing Sharplegal 2013 survey, in strict accordance with the rules governing best practices in research.

No law firm or other third party was involved in selecting the sample of corporate counsel interviewed, analyzing or influencing responses or the Index rankings.
