February 4, 2015 – Reed Smith provided counsel to e-discovery software company kCura in the company’s first equity raise. kCura, the Chicago-based developer of Relativity, announced today the $125 million deal with its minority investor, San Francisco-based ICONIQ Capital.

Reed Smith is among the more than 110,000 active users of Relativity worldwide, which include 195 of the AmLaw 200 law firms as well as the U.S. Department of Justice. Under the terms of the deal, kCura will remain privately owned and independent. The funds will allow the company to accelerate the build-out of Relativity, while increasing investment in the company’s people and technology.
