On Thursday 15th and Friday 16th September, 44 representatives from international law firm Reed Smith and, paralympic hopeful, Nikki Emerson abseiled the firm's London office (The Broadgate Tower) to raise money for the British Red Cross. At 540ft (35 floors), The Broadgate Tower is the fourth tallest building in the City of London, making this one of the UK's highest urban abseils.

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. They provide care for people in their own homes and in the community, in the UK and abroad, in peace and in war.

Reed Smith is proudly sponsoring Nikki Emerson, a wheelchair racing paralympic hopeful, in the run up to the London Olympics. The firm is also match funding each Reed Smith participant that took part in the abseil.

The event, which was run by The British Red Cross, included 175 volunteers. Each abseiler was required to raise a minimum of £250 to qualify for the abseil and The British Red Cross raised just under £90, 000 from the event overall.
