(March 26, 2013, San Francisco) — Reed Smith LLP is pleased to announce that Tiffany Renee Thomas, a Senior Associate in the firm’s Northern California Commercial Litigation Group, has been selected for the 2013 Fellows Program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), a national organization comprising the legal profession’s top general counsel and managing partners.

Ms. Thomas joins a select group of experienced attorneys from diverse backgrounds who have been recognized for their potential as leaders in their organizations.

“We are very proud of Tiffany and her contributions to our firm-wide Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, as well as her exemplary pro bono service, her mentoring of diverse law students and junior attorneys, and her overall commitment to advancing diversity and women’s career advancement in the legal profession,” said Greg Jordan, Global Managing Partner of Reed Smith.

Among Ms. Thomas’s contributions include establishing a mentoring program for diverse associates in Northern California that has been duplicated in several of the firm’s offices—and which helped Reed Smith win the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s 2013 Thomas L. Sager Award for the West Region.

According to LCLD Executive Director Robert J. Grey, Jr., the LCLD Fellows Program offers participants “an extraordinarily rich year of relationship-building, virtual and in-person training, peer-group projects, and extensive contact with LCLD’s top leadership.”

Founded in 2009, the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity is a growing organization of more than 200 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners dedicated to creating a truly diverse legal profession. Its goal is to help its Member organizations find, hire, retain, promote, and engage the best talent.

LCLD’s Fellowship program was developed under the leadership of former LCLD Talent Development Committee Chair Greg Jordan, and Committee Vice Chair Geoff Kelly, former General Counsel for Coca-Cola.
