The Women's Initiative Network of Reed Smith is a pioneering effort focusing on career advancement issues and opportunities for women lawyers at Reed Smith. The mission of the Initiative is to promote the attraction and retention of women lawyers, the successful development of business by women lawyers, and the advancement of women to partnership and management roles within the firm, through education, training, mentoring and the creation of networking opportunities.
The Women's Initiative Network, headed by our Director and a committee of women partners, strives to provide opportunities for the exchange of information and expertise among women, both internally among our colleagues, as well as externally within our business community. We have developed a series of networking events throughout all of our markets for our lawyers, clients and business leaders. Internally, we have developed a series of formal training workshops and seminars for our female attorneys to focus on career development.
Furthermore, our commitment is reflected in our partnerships with external groups that strive to advance women in business. Reed Smith is a proud member of Catalyst, Inc., a leading research and advisory consultant working with businesses and law firms to help build inclusive environments and expand opportunities for women at work. Reed Smith was one of the first 10 law firms to partner with Catalyst.
