Alison is based in Reed Smith's Richmond office and is a member of the Commercial Litigation Group. She represents businesses, financial institutions and construction industry clients in state and federal courts throughout Virginia, both at the trial and appellate level, and around the United States with the assistance of local counsel.

Alison's experience includes litigation involving business contract disputes, business torts, and easement disputes for utilities. She represents institutional clients in financial services litigation and defends against consumer claims, including claims brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act. Her practice also includes the representation of creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.

In addition, Alison commits a portion of her practice to the representation of pro bono clients in court proceedings of all levels, including in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
