Brett is a member of the firm's Global Regulatory Enforcement Group in the Washington, D.C. and New York offices. Brett's practice involves two main areas: International Trade and Government Contracts. His International Trade practice includes counseling clients on U.S. export controls, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and compliance matters under the Department of State, Department of Commerce and Department of Treasury regulations. He has conducted internal investigations and prepared disclosures to the government in a variety of matters relating to international trade. Brett's Government Contracts practice includes counseling clients regarding contract claims and disputes, grants and cooperative agreements, the False Claims Act, internal investigations, national content requirements (Buy America/Buy American/Trade Agreements), voluntary disclosures, and international procurement matters. Brett has lived in China on several occasions, and has undertaken law studies in Hong Kong and undergradute studies in Shanghai.
