Reed Smith actively recruits judicial clerks to join our new associate class. We believe that the judicial clerkship experience helps talented students develop into exceptional attorneys. Judicial clerks have been particularly successful at Reed Smith. We believe the reason for this success is our focus on delivering what most judicial clerks really want in private practice - a hands-on, advocacy oriented practice. We offer competitive bonuses on a case-by-case basis to lawyers who join the firm following clerkships.
Our general policy is to provide the following: class year credit and $15,000 to those who clerk at federal District Courts; class year credit and $20,000 to those who clerk on the United States Court of Appeals and class year credit and $50,000 to Supreme Court clerks. Reed Smith also provides class year credit and $10,000 to those who clerk at the highest court in any state or the District of Columbia. Bonuses and class year credit for other types of clerkships, as well as for multiple clerkships, are determined on a case-by-case basis.
If you are currently a judicial clerk and would like to pursue opportunities with Reed Smith, we encourage you to contact the office in which you are interested.
