Pro Bono & Community Service

Skip to site utilities and navigation

As charter signatory to the ABA’s Pro Bono Challenge, we have made a commitment to devote a percentage of our billable hours to pro bono legal work. This dedication to pro bono and community service carries over to our summer program where we encourage our summer associates to participate in pro bono and community service projects and offer many opportunities to do so in each of our offices.  Our summer associates may choose to work directly with our attorneys on various pro bono matters that are included in our assignment system, or they may join our attorneys and staff and volunteer in the community in which their office is located through one of our many community service initiatives.

Examples of pro bono and community service projects that our summer associates have recently been involved with are listed below:

  • Los Angeles:  Adoption Clinic
  • New York:  Habitat for Humanity Buildable Hours Program, Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, Right to Play
  • Oakland:  Asylum cases provided by the SF Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights; Adopt-a-School in the Oakland School District
