David A. Thompson

David is the Integration Partner of Reed Smith's Houston office and is a member of the firm's Energy & Natural Resources Industry Group.

David's practice focuses on commercial real estate and sophisticated development projects for both public and privately held companies. He has spearheaded the real property aspects of various projects for clients in the energy, financial services, technology and utility industries.

David's commercial real estate practice includes negotiation and documentation of acquisitions, dispositions and leases; development of architectural and construction contracts; and advising on land use issues, including title issues, title insurance and due diligence in connection with real property transactions.

David's work with the energy sector, in particular, has included several large electric and alternative energy deals. His work on those projects involves project siting, negotiation and documenting of ground leases, purchase and sale agreements, easement agreements, financing documentation and title insurance.
