John is a member of Reed Smith’s Global Regulatory Enforcement Group. Based in the firm’s Shanghai office, John focuses his practice on internal investigations, corporate compliance, and dispute resolution. He works with companies doing business in China and throughout Asia on FCPA and compliance investigations, responding to government inquiries, and developing and implementing compliance programs. John also handles anti-corruption due diligence for corporate transactions. John’s experience includes representing clients in matters relating to Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian, and other regulatory agencies throughout the world.

John previously served as China Regional Compliance Director for Pfizer, the world’s largest pharmaceutical company. John has extensive experience with the life science industry and multi-national companies in the areas of international regulatory compliance and enforcement. He also worked for a multinational law firm in Shanghai representing food industry and other clients on food, drug, and health regulatory issues throughout Asia.

John has lived in Shanghai, China since 2005, and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Before moving to China, John worked as a public defender in the District of Columbia, where he handled numerous jury trials, bench trials, and appellate arguments.
