Laura is a member of the Insurance Coverage Group in Reed Smith's Chicago office. She focuses her practice on representing corporate policyholders in insurance coverage litigation involving commercial general liability, directors & officers, errors & omissions, employment practices liability, credit risk, first party property and business interruption and pollution liability policies. Laura provides cradle-to-grave services in the insurance context, including counseling during the negotiation and placement of insurance policies, advising as claims are tendered to the insurers, as well as resolving coverage disputes through negotiation, litigation, or alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation or arbitration. In addition, Laura has extensive experience representing corporations in products liability, labor and employment, and commercial litigation. This experience gives her a greater and more nuanced understanding of the claims underlying the insurance at issue in her coverage cases.
Her representations have encompassed clients ranging in size from "Fortune 50" corporations to family-owned businesses. She is familiar with a wide spectrum of manufacturing and service industry sectors, including retail, energy, financial institutions and food manufacturing.
Laura writes an update each year for the treatise Insurance Coverage Disputes, published by Law Journal Press.
