Expected Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure Relating to E-Discovery

Absent an act of Congress, amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure will go into effect Dec. 1, 2006. The amendments, which were recommended by the Civil Rules Advisory Committee and approved by the Supreme Court, address various issues related to electronic discovery. The amendments are the product of five years of work by the Advisory Committee that provided significant opportunities for public comment.
