Reed Smith Names 18 New Partners Across Nine Offices

(November 29, 2006) – Reed Smith, a leading international law firm, today announced 18 new partner promotions across nine of its 17 offices worldwide. The partnerships become effective January 1, 2007.

Reed Smith’s Business & Regulatory and Litigation Departments each gain nine new partners as a result of the promotions, with at least one new partner named in New York, London, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Princeton.
Cindy Schmitt Minniti, a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice in New York, is among the Litigation Department’s new partners.
Named as new Business & Regulatory Department partners in London are Saul Sender and Sakil Suleman, both in the firm’s U.K. Corporate Practice.
New Business & Regulatory Department partners in Washington, D.C., include Gail L. Daubert and Jason M. Healy, both in the firm’s Health Care Practice.
New Litigation Department partners in the firm’s West Coast offices include Miles M. Cooley, a member of the Southern California Business Trial Practice in the Century City office, and Hardy R. Murphy, a member of the Labor & Employment Practice in Los Angeles. Named as a new Business & Regulatory Department partner in San Francisco is Simon T. Adams in the firm’s Real Estate Practice.
New Business & Regulatory Department partners in Pittsburgh include John W. Chapas in Financial Services; Andrew P. Cross in the Investment Management Group; and Gregory L. Taddonio in the Commercial Restructuring & Bankruptcy Group. New Litigation Department partners in Pittsburgh include Sharon L. Rusnak in Financial Services Litigation; Robert D. Kucler in Intellectual Property; and Mark L. Tamburri in the Pittsburgh Business Trial Group.
New Litigation Department partners in Philadelphia are Nanda P. Kumar and Carl H. Pierce, both in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice.
Among the firm’s new partners in Princeton are Andres Liivak, a member of the Life Sciences Transactions Practice in the Business & Regulatory Department, and Gary J. Ruckelshaus, a member of the NJ/NY Business Trial Practice in the Litigation Department.
In addition to these promotions, the firm will be electing new partners in London from Richards Butler during December. These partnerships will be effective January 1, when the merger of Reed Smith and Richards Butler becomes effective. The combined firm will be known for a period of time in London as Reed Smith Richards Butler.
