Oliver represents major airlines, manufacturers (including automobile, aircraft and other products), shipowners and charterers, commodities traders and other corporate clients in federal and state courts throughout the United States, and in foreign and domestic arbitrations. Oliver is highly experienced in the areas of contract, warranty and insurance law, as well as international treaties, such as the Montreal Convention, the New York Arbitration Convention, the Death on the High Seas Act and the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act. He has argued and won numerous federal and state court appeals on issues including federal preemption, treaty law and personal jurisdiction.

Oliver’s experience includes representing clients in multi-district, class action and other high-stakes litigation. He has tried and won high-profile cases for several notable firm clients. Oliver also regularly counsels clients outside of the courtroom on risk management, litigation avoidance, commercial contract, logistics, equipment and insurance issues.
