Bruce has litigated numerous cases involving construction projects. He also has extensive experience in commercial and corporate litigation matters such as minority shareholder disputes, employment matters, contract disputes, and business torts. He also has considerable trial and arbitration experience in construction litigation matters. Bruce recently served as co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs in a major business tort jury trial in West Virginia state court, resulting in a favorable $50 million verdict. In addition, he recently completed a complex construction arbitration.
He serves as a regional editor for The Critical Path, Reed Smith’s quarterly update of legal issues affecting the construction industry.
Representative Matters
Bragg and Hatfield v. Aracoma Coal, et al. - Received settlement in a contingent fee case brought against Massey Energy Company, CEO Don Blankenship, and two subsidiaries, on behalf of two women widowed by a coal mine fire that occurred in January 2006.
