Adam R. Morgan
Adam is Managing Partner of the Middle East Offices and a member of the Financial Industry Group, practising in the area of Financial Services. For 30 years, 10 of them in Hong Kong, Adam has been a specialist in Ship and Aviation Finance, encompassing the acquisition and financing of new and secondhand ships and aircraft, corporate structures, vessel and aircraft management, ownership, operating and joint venture arrangements, tax based and other structured financings and residual value support. He also deals with the sale, purchase, construction, financing and operation of Super Yachts. He has considerable experience in enforcement of security in respect of shipping loans and shipping workouts and insolvencies.
Representative Matters
Advised Eagle Bulk Shipping in relation to its $1.1 billion acquisition of 26 Supramax newbuilding contracts from Greek interests and allied $1.6 billion financing, the largest ever arranged in the dry bulk industry.
Advised Gulmar Offshore in relation to the $240million financing of two Diving Support Vessels, notable for the use of Korean Shipping Investment Company funding in addition to senior loans, as well as Korean Export Insurance.
Acted for the lender in relation to the financing of a fleet of business jets.
Advised the owner in relation to the construction of a 66.9 metre (219 feet) luxury sailing yacht.
Acted for the lender in relation to an innovative scheme for the tax-efficient financing of pleasure yachts.
