Mark has specialised in commercial property for over 20 years. During that time he has built up a successful practice acting for institutional investors and fund managers together with property companies. Mark has gained a particular reputation in the market for dealing with the acquisition, management and disposal of multi-let industrial estates. A proportion of his time is also spent on work relating to development sites from acquisition through to subsequent investment disposal once fully constructed and let. Clients include Teesland iOG, Workspace Group, Rockspring, Halverton REIM, La Salle Investment Management, Moorevale Properties, CIN Properties and Sunley Holdings Plc.
In 2005, Mark led the team at Richards Butler involved in the property due diligence for the £200m acquisition of the Darien Portfolio of industrial properties by a fund managed by Teesland iOG and Rockspring. In 2006 Mark advised on the acquisition of a further portfolio of 19 industrial properties by the same fund for a consideration in excess of £26m. Other transactions in 2006 have included the acquisition of the Aycliffe Industrial Park, Newton Ayclife, for a consideration in excess of £40m and the disposal of a portfolio of industrial estates for a consideration in excess of £23.5m.
In late 2006 Mark's team co-ordinated the real estate due diligence work involved in the refinancing of a portfolio of over 100 industrial estates for a Teesland fund for loan facilities in excess of £400m.
