Tom is a member of the Life Sciences Health Industry Group, practicing in the area of health care regulatory law.  His practice focuses on representing radiologists and diagnostic imaging providers.  Previously, he served as general counsel for the American College of Radiology.

Tom is the current chair of the Virginia Bar Association Health Law Section. He is a regular columnist for Diagnostic Imaging Magazine. Tom was awarded the "President’s Award" from the Radiology Business Management Association in 2003 and he is a recipient of that same organization's "Calhoun Award" for dedicated service in 2009. He was listed as one of the top ten "Outstanding Physician Practice Lawyers" in the United States in 2004 and 2009 by Nightingale’s Healthcare News.
