Laura Hicks
Laura is an Associate in the Media and Technology Group. As well as advising content financiers and producers on traditional media deals, Laura advises on the legal issues arising in the digital distribution of content and services.
Experience:
- Digital Media: advising online service providers on issues including content licensing, online games, outsourcing, data protection, behavioural advertising and drafting documentation including website hosting agreements, terms and conditions, privacy policies, trade mark and domain name licences/assignments.
- Film: advising film production companies on legal issues including script clearance and chain of title. Drafting and negotiating various film production and distribution agreements.
- Film Finance: drafting and negotiating documentation for bridging, equity and tax credit loans, sale and leasebacks and other tax driven transactions.
- Technology: coordinating several multi-jurisdictional legal analyses of new telecommunications technology, providing English law analyses, summaries of advice and licence acquisitions prior to worldwide product launches. Advising as IP specialist on corporate acquisitions.
