Bill is a partner for the Financial Industry Group. As the former vice chairman for The PNC Financial Services Group, he held management responsibilities for certain PNC staff functions, including legal, and for assisting the company in implementing best practices for corporate governance.
Previously, Bill has served as a partner in the business law division of the international firm of Brown Rudnick Berlack Israels in Boston. Prior to that, he served as executive director of the Interdependent Oversight Board for Arthur Andersen headed by former Federal Reserve Chairman, Paul Volcker. Bill had a distinguished 25-year career at FleetBoston Financial Corp. where he was general counsel for Fleet worldwide, responsible for all legal affairs of the company. He is a national trustee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a past president of the Boston Bar Foundation and a former director of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
Bill began his legal career at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP where he was an associate for six years.
