Henry is a partner in the Princeton, New Jersey office of Reed Smith LLP. His practice focuses on providing a broad range of advice to clients involved in heavy industry, such as power plants, steel mills and fuel production.

Henry has been involved in working with clients in the renewable energy and alternative fuel industry for his entire career.  Such work includes the acquisition, development, financing and operation of power generation facilities.  Henry has represented clients in corporate and project finance deals, as well as the purchase and sale of power plants in the development stage and in commercial operation.  In 2007, Henry led a team of Reed Smith lawyers in the sale of 18 renewable power plants from Caithness Energy to ArcLight.  Henry has also negotiated all types of power purchase and sale agreements, such as for the sale of the output from wind and geothermal companies to public utilities, ISDA hedging agreements related to power sales, a 500 MW purchase agreement on behalf of a steel mill, and the wholesale purchase of electricity by a public utility.  Henry has also negotiated joint venture and limited liability company operating agreements, as well as a wide variety of services for power plants, including agreements for construction and repair, equipment procurement, operations and maintenance, and interconnection and transmission rights.   Henry is very familiar with federal and state incentives for renewable energy.

Henry has also spent a considerable amount of time advising clients in the alternative fuels industry, such as the financing and development of ethanol facilities, the development of a wood pellet production facility, and the manufacturer of fuel systems for compressed natural gas vehicles.

In the steel industry, Henry has handled negotiations for a wide range of contracts, including power supply and transmission upgrades, water supply, purchase of pig iron, zinc and other metallics, transportation of goods by rail, truck and barge, stevedoring and logistics services, equipment supply, construction and delivery of oxygen, compressed air and other gases, and the supply and processing of chemicals.
Henry also is active in pro bono work.  He represents a small, unregulated tax-exempt water utility, and also represents parents and children in special education cases to obtain therapy and related services.
