Katie is a member of the Life Sciences Health Industry Group, practicing in the area of health care regulatory law. She works with a variety of health care clients, including health care providers, medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies on a broad range of complex regulatory issues, such as, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, fraud and abuse compliance, and FDA regulatory and enforcement.
She has assisted clients with regulatory due diligence and internal investigations, analyzed the regulatory impact of various corporate transactions and other ventures on both the state and Federal levels, represented clients before the Medicare Provider Reimbursement Review Board, and defended clients in qui tam litigation. Katie's advocacy on behalf of clients has successfully persuaded the FDA to amend erroneous inspectional observations, a state Medicaid program to reconsider an improper recoupment, and a Medicare contractor to reverse inappropriate audit adjustments to cost reports.
