George is a member of the Life Sciences Health Industry Group, practicing in the area of product liability litigation. His practice focuses on complex commercial and product liability matters, including serving as individual and national counsel in the defense of class action matters, multi-district litigations and claims for violation of state unfair business statutes such as the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. He represents numerous pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers and distributors in commercial disputes and products liability actions. His product liability experience includes cases involving over-the-counter cough and cold medications (PPA), diet drugs (Phen/Fen), anti-cholesterol medications (Baycol®), asthma drugs, synthetic intraocular lenses, electronic diagnostic devices and other drugs.
George maintains an active trial practice. He has handled matters before administrative law tribunals, arbitration panels, and state and federal courts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Illinois, Oklahoma, New Mexico and New York, among others. He has tried over 100 cases in his career and is one of the few lawyers to try diet drug cases to verdict, having obtained favorable verdicts in each of the seven he tried in 2004.
Representative Matters
Represented Wyeth in PPA class action and personal injury cases in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Defended client in medical monitoring, economic refund, and personal injury class actions and individual personal injury cases, and coordinate nationwide defense of product.
Maniscalco et al. v. Wyeth: Represented Wyeth, as lead trial counsel, in Phen/Fen diet drug litigation venued in Beaumont, Texas.
Rives, et al. v. Wyeth: Jury trial, lead trial team to verdict in consolidated (four cases) Phase II Diet Drug matters.
Fernandez, et al. v. Wyeth: Jury trial, lead trial team to defense verdict in Phase I of consolidated (three cases) Diet Drug matters.
