   The State Tax practice at Reed Smith LLP extended its nationwide reach today, adding two partners in the firm’s New York office. With the addition of Michael McLoughlin and Aaron Young, the group now has 23 lawyers in five offices to represent the firm’s clients in every state across the country.

Mr. Smith was formerly a partner in the New York office of Patton Boggs; Mr. Regensburg was formerly counsel in the New York office of White & Case.

   Reed Smith Richards Butler LLP today announced the addition of Mao Rong, as Of Counsel in its Beijing office. Mao Rong joins the firm following a decade of providing legal leadership as corporate counsel at Kodak in China. She was most recently Director of Legal Affairs in the Asia Pacific Region for the company.

   Reed Smith LLP today announced the addition of two highly experienced maritime lawyers to its leading global Shipping Group. C. Jonathan Benner and Matthew J. Thomas will join the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, as partners, effective immediately. Mr. Benner was formerly the practice group leader of Troutman Sanders’ Transportation Practice in Washington, D.C., and Mr. Thomas was a member of that group.

    International law firm Reed Smith has announced the appointment of litigation partner Robert Falkner to its Europe and Middle East commercial disputes group in London. Robert joins the firm from Morgan Lewis (where he is a partner) on 1 October 2009.
