Pavel’s practice focuses on general commercial litigation with an emphasis on representing financial institutions. Besides regularly practicing in California state and federal Courts he has also handled or overseen litigation nationwide. Pavel has litigated international business disputes, consumer class actions, financial services actions, as well as product liability actions. He has represented banking institutions, international conglomerates, medical device and pharmaceutical companies, and welding equipment manufacturers. Pavel represents clients in all stages of litigation from pleadings through discovery, dispositive motions, and trial.
In addition to his commercial and financial litigation practice, Pavel spent two years on secondment with the Legal Department of a large banking client. In that role, Pavel managed hundreds of cases and worked with many different law firms and attorneys from around the country. He also manages a team of associates representing lenders, investors, servicers and subservicers in mortgage litigation in California.
Pavel is a big believer in the firm’s mentoring and summer associate programs. He is heavily involved in the recruiting and formal and informal mentoring of junior associates. Pavel has also been a big part of the summer associate program in the Los Angeles office.
Interests
Pavel loves spending time with his wife, two daughters, family and friends. He is a big fan of Los Angeles because all four seasons can be experienced in a matter of a few hours. Pavel enjoys reading, writing short stories, solving crossword puzzles, and watching all sports.
