Tom joined the firm in February 2006 and qualified into the Employment Group in February 2008. During his training, Tom spent six months on secondment in the Group Legal Department of The Rank Group plc managing Employment Tribunal claims and advising on a broad range of employment issues.

Tom regularly acts for employers in the financial services, advertising and marketing, life sciences and insurance sectors. Tom advises on a broad range of areas including executive terminations, disciplinary and grievances procedures, redundancies and discrimination and whistle blowing issues. Tom continues to act for clients in Employment Tribunal claims and also has experience in disputes concerning restrictive covenants and garden leave and the retention and misuse of confidential information.

Tom's recent experience includes the following:

  • Successfully defending a complex and high value unfair dismissal and whistle blowing claim for a financial services consultancy
  • Advising on a confidential investigation into wrongdoing by a senior executive
  • Advising on the dismissal of a senior finance executive
