Diversity Initiatives

Reed Smith's commitment to diverse students entering the legal profession begins even before they start law school and continues through graduation and beyond.  We support diverse law students by providing the tools and opportunities to succeed in law school and in the legal profession through our participation in diversity initiatives such as those highlighted below.

Diverse Scholars Program

Our Diverse Scholars Program provides two $15,000 awards toward tuition for the second year of law school, as well as a paid summer associate position after completion of the second year of law school.

1L LCLD Scholars Program

We are proud to be a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). As a member of the LCLD, the Pittsburgh and Chicago offices of Reed Smith are pleased to participate in the LCLD Scholars Program which will provide a first-year law student with the opportunity to join our 2013 Summer Associate Program. 

Law Preview Diversity Scholars Sponsorship

We understand that increasing the number of diverse law students is not sufficient to build a bigger pipeline; diverse students must also excel academically in law school in order to become the legal profession's and Reed Smith's next generation of leaders. As such, Reed Smith is committed to the Law Preview Scholars Program.
