Chantelle is an associate in the IP, Information & Innovation group and is a member of the Information Technology, Privacy & Data Security team.
Chantelle advises on international and European data protection laws and cybersecurity, including on cross-border transfers of personal data such as binding corporate rules and US-EU & Swiss Safe Harbor, data security, records retention and policies, notification and registration requirements, strategic advice relating to the application of the data protection principles, and advice relating to commercial agreements.
Chantelle also counsels clients on responding to data subject access requests, direct marketing and compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and has vast experience investigating and responding to data protection incidents (e.g. loss of data or security breaches) and providing pragmatic advice on the managing and mitigation of subsequent risks.
Chantelle provides advice on future technologies (interactive apps, cookies etc.) procurement, aggregation and legitimate uses of data, and cloud computing. Chantelle delivered comprehensive data protection training sessions aimed at all business levels, as well as responding to various freedom of information requests and appeals, including liaising with the Information Commissioner's Office in regards to complaints referred to it.
