Colette is an attorney in the firm’s Chicago office and provides support primarily to the firm’s Global Regulatory Enforcement Department. She has experience with Anti-Kickback Statute claims, Safe Harbor Regulations, and the False Claims Act. She works with other attorneys in the department to respond to government investigations of corporate clients. She recently assisted in creating and implementing a large scale document review protocol for a criminal investigation of a global corporation. Colette was responsible for managing a large team of reviewers while also being a reliable team member. She has performed witness interviews, which were used in a report to the federal government. Colette has also finalized documents for production, created witness binders, and prepared privilege logs in response to federal subpoenas.
Colette also represents consumer finance companies in matters involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act. In addition, Colette represents businesses and financial institutions in forfeiture, replevin, and collection matters.
Colette has been with the firm since 2008. Prior to becoming a staff attorney at Reed Smith, Colette was a member of the Reed Smith E-Discovery and Records Management Group where she performed document reviews. Colette is also familiar with civil litigation including medical malpractice and personal injury matters from her experiences of working at Corboy and Demetrio prior to attending law school.
