Dan is a member of Reed Smith’s Complex Litigation Group (“CLG”) and currently serves as co-chair of the CLG’s Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Team. Dan has substantial experience assisting clients in the life sciences industry resolve business disputes through pre-litigation counseling, mediation, arbitration and litigation.

Dan’s life-sciences litigation experience is multi-disciplinary and includes knowledge of the transactional, regulatory and intellectual property issues that life sciences companies often confront in complex business disputes. Dan handles business disputes for branded, specialty and generic pharmaceutical companies that arise at different points of a pharmaceutical product’s life cycle, including pre-clinical and clinical development, NDA and ANDA regulatory approval, launch and commercialization, licensing and collaboration, supply, and promotion.

Adding to Dan’s life-sciences experience is his counseling of clients faced with pharmaceutical product recalls, his defense of related product liability and class actions, and his handling of government pharmaceutical pricing investigations.

Dan also contributes significantly to Reed Smith’s diversity initiatives. He is one of the founding members of Reed Smith’s Diversity Committee, heads the firm’s Hispanic/Latino Affinity Group, and is a member of Reed Smith’s LGBT – pRiSm Affinity Group. Dan has also been very active with the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey (“HBA-NJ”) and the Hispanic National Bar Association (“HNBA”). He currently co-chairs the HNBA’s Health and Life Sciences Committee and was previously the organization’s General Counsel.
