TYSONS - Partner Nick Albu has been selected as one of Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s “Up & Coming Lawyers” for 2019. This award recognizes lawyers in their first 10 years of practice who will be “leading the profession in Virginia in the years to come.”

As a member of Reed Smith’s Global Commercial Disputes Group, Nick is a trial lawyer with extensive courtroom experience in commercial litigation, real estate disputes, and fiduciary claims. He also represents individuals and developers in zoning and land use disputes. He has been influential in protecting the property rights of individual owners, using creative approaches to ensure their access to courts.

In Virginia courts, Nick repeatedly helps property owners protect their rights to rent their homes using online platforms, such as Airbnb, as a part of the new housing sharing economy. Nick has also represented Loudoun County real estate developers, protecting their rights in contentious disputes over by-right residential development.

In addition to prosecuting and defending commercial and real estate disputes, Nick represents high net-worth individuals in contentious fiduciary litigation, including breach of fiduciary duty claims, trust and estate disputes, and shareholder actions.
