Global law firm Reed Smith announced today that it has launched a podcast network, beginning with three new channels: Inclusivity Included: Powerful personal stories, Government Contracts Coffee Break, and Countering the Crisis. These are the first of a series of channels that the firm will roll out over the course of the next year.

“The decision to launch a podcast network was inspired by a simple principle: Go where your audience is,” said Sadie Baron, Reed Smith’s chief marketing officer. “We know that people who are interested in our thought leadership – be they in-house counsel, business leaders, law students, media, or others – are eager to consume it through on-demand channels. These podcasts are a natural extension of our multiplatform content network to keep our clients informed about key legal and business developments across the globe.”

Hosted by Reed Smith’s global chair of diversity and inclusion John Iino, Inclusivity Included uses personal narratives and the art of storytelling to foster candid discussions around diversity, inclusion, and authenticity while attempting to help break down barriers in the workplace. At a time when diversity initiatives have never been more important, this podcast aims to foster connection and build community through shared experiences.

In the premiere episode of Inclusivity Included, Iino interviewed Lloyd Johnson, CEO of Chief Legal Executive and founder of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) on his personal story and the impact of the MCCA as an advocate for diversity in the legal profession. Subsequent episodes include a discussion with Jane Burton, chair of the Lawyers with Disabilities Division of the (UK) Law Society on disability inclusion, and conversations with members of the Reed Smith team on topics such as overcoming implicit bias and strategies to remain inclusive during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Government Contracts Coffee Break highlights developments that matter to government contractors and procurement professionals. Featuring members of Reed Smith’s government contracts team, which sits in the Global Regulatory Enforcement practice, this podcast provides practical insight and tips about emerging topics that are of interest to businesses and others in the contracting industry.
