PHILADELPHIA – Four Reed Smith lawyers’ achievements, leadership and dynamism have been recognized, and the firm itself heads a very short list of finalists for Firm of the Year, in The Legal Intelligencer 2022 Professional Excellence Awards.

Reed Smith is a Law Firm of the Year Finalist (sharing that distinction with just two other firms), earning credit for its Associate Life initiative, Racial Equity Action Plan, Continuing Legal Education program, many client successes, and innovations in legal technology, including its legal tech subsidiary Gravity Stack and suite of data solutions.

Reed Smith also has four attorney winners on the list:

  • Stephen McConnell – Distinguished Leaders. Based in Philadelphia, McConnell litigates antitrust, securities, white collar criminal, and mass tort cases in the United States.
  • Ken Siegel – Best Law Firm Mentors. Based in Pittsburgh, Siegel represents clients in M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, private equity transactions, financing transactions and general corporate law issues.
  • Luke Debevec – Power Players. Based in Philadelphia, Debevec handles insurance and reinsurance recovery cases and arbitrations across the United States and internationally.
  • Joe Motto – Lawyers on the Fast Track. Motto helps global financial institutions and banks negotiate services arrangements, while complying with federal and state rules. He is based in Pittsburgh.

Sponsored annually by The Legal Intelligencer, the Pennsylvania Professional Excellence Awards celebrate achievement and excellence while honoring those lawyers “who have left an indelible mark on the legal community in Pennsylvania and beyond through their unwavering dedication to the profession.” Honorees will be recognized at an awards dinner set for June 29, 2022, at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.
