Based in Richmond, Treacy has extensive experience of working on environmental matters. He is a member of Reed Smith’s global Regulatory & Investigations Group and the firm’s Virginia Government Relations Team. He is a fellow with the American College of Environmental Lawyers, a former director of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and has a strong record of environmental advocacy with a number of organizations. Treacy is a founding member and a former chair of VIRGINIAforever.
The organization’s Bridge Builder award recognizes Treacy’s “deep commitment to finding common ground among differing stakeholders, [which] has made [him] a trusted partner for organizations across a wide spectrum and a remarkable spokesperson for needed state environmental funding.”
VIRGINIAforever is a coalition of businesses, natural resource and environmental organizations. It advocates for increased government funding for water quality improvements and land conservation across the Commonwealth.
