Kevin-Paul regularly advises banks, alternative lenders, asset managers, and borrowers on a wide range of direct lending, private credit, specialty finance, acquisition finance, and stressed/distressed finance transactions. This work includes bespoke asset-backed private credit solutions, including hybrid credit, which combines debt and equity elements to create bespoke financing solutions for lenders and borrowers across sectors and product categories. Kevin-Paul also acts on a wide range of fund finance transactions – principally for borrowers – including subscription facilities, hybrid facilities, Net Asset Value (NAV)/asset-backed facilities, and continuation facilities, providing creative solutions at all levels of fund structures and at all stages of the fund-life cycle.
In addition to his pan-European banking, private credit, and fund finance practice, Kevin-Paul is a leading member of Reed Smith’s EMEA emerging markets team. He has advised on market-leading transactions in Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. His work in emerging markets includes project finance, leveraged acquisitions, margin loans, real estate finance, commodity finance, bespoke shareholder financing arrangements, and financial accommodation provided or supported by government agencies and DFIs (including OPIC, IFC, EBRD, EIB, and CDC).
Kevin-Paul is also extensively involved in the firm’s Project and Project Finance practice, advising on some of the most complex and bespoke projects and financings across the EMEA region, in close collaboration with the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources, Transportation, and Real Estate practices. Kevin-Paul has advised on financings for a wide variety of assets, including in the petroleum sector, renewable energy, roads, rails, and other asset classes. His Project Finance work includes portfolio-backed financings, ECA-, DFI-, and sovereign-backed transactions, and private credit and banking solutions for financing the construction of public and private assets.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Kevin-Paul worked in the London and Bucharest offices of a Magic Circle law firm and in the Toronto office of a prominent Canadian law firm.
