Ed is an experienced antitrust lawyer and litigator with experience representing clients in jury and bench trials, appeals, arbitrations and regulatory investigations. Ed has cross-examined witnesses at trial and won multi-million dollar judgments and has also negotiated with the Department of Justice in criminal investigations that successfully concluded with no enforcement action recommended. In addition to litigating on behalf of clients and defending clients in antitrust and white-collar investigations, Ed also provides counseling to clients on antitrust, anti-corruption, and regulatory compliance. He also has extensive experience with and writes regularly on antitrust issues, transnational regulatory investigations, and multi-jurisdictional litigation and compliance strategies.
Ed has conducted direct and cross-examination of expert witnesses from a variety of fields, as well as fact witnesses, in trials and arbitrations. He has also deposed and defended expert and fact witnesses in numerous types of cases, argued appeals, summary judgment and Daubert motions, and negotiated settlements in complex multi-party disputes. Ed has represented clients in courts around the country, as well as before domestic and international arbitration tribunals and U.S. regulatory authorities. Ed has significant experience representing and advising clients in a wide range of industries, including health care providers and insurers, energy exploration and production companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and chemical companies.
Ed is experienced in developing and analyzing complex economic and statistical evidence and expert testimony and marshaling such evidence in arguing and defending Daubert and summary judgment motions, as well as preparing presentations for regulatory enforcement agencies. Ed has also deposed and cross-examined medical and epidemiological experts and argued dispositive motions regarding such evidence. Ed is also experienced in managing high-stakes and complex e-discovery issues, including transnational investigations.
