He has particular experience acting for clients in the energy and natural resources, media, technology, transportation and logistics sectors, who are doing business or looking to enter into the Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, India and Cambodia markets.

Matthew is consistently recognised by Chambers Asia-Pacific as a Leading Individual in the Singapore Corporate/M&A and Capital Markets categories, as well as by Best Lawyers for Capital Markets in Singapore. He is praised by clients as being "very pragmatic and commercial, as well as a superb technical lawyer." In 2019, he was ranked in the A-list of Singapore’s top 100 lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal.
