John first joined Reed Smith in 2015 and represents financial industry clients in all stages of litigation in state and federal court. John has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, including trial preparation. He provides firmwide support to the Business & Finance and Litigation Departments. He primarily works with lenders in commercial litigation, foreclosures, bankruptcies, asset recovery and workouts with distressed companies. He has experience defending financial institutions in consumer financial services litigation nationwide arising under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, in addition to state fair lending, deceptive trade practice laws, and common law claims, breach of contract and fraud. John also has experience managing and training junior attorneys.
