Mark Sanders is a partner in Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group, based in the London office.
Mark has extensive experience of UK and international M&A, private equity, joint ventures and other investment and financing transactions and advisory work. His practice includes advising international corporate groups, investment funds and their portfolio companies, entrepreneurs and management teams on the full spectrum of private corporate and investment transactions. Mark has significant experience of cross-border multi-jurisdictional transactions, managing international teams.
Mark works closely with Reed Smith’s leading sector-focused industry groups, and his experience includes transactions and advisory roles working with our Entertainment & Media, Transportation and Energy & Natural Resources groups.
He has a particular interest in industries where intellectual property is a critical asset, including entertainment and media, technology, industrials (aerospace, automotive and engineering) and retail and consumer brands.
Mark has been recognised in The Best Lawyers in the United Kingdom™ 2023 guide for Mergers and Acquisitions Law, based on an annual peer-review survey.
Teams led by Mark have been recognised with legal profession and industry awards. These include in 2019 a combined Reed Smith M&A and Transportation team led by Mark and Transportation chair Rob Wilkins won Seatrade’s ‘Deal of The Year’ for the sale by Reed Smith clients Augustea Group and York Capital Management of ships to NASDAQ-listed Star Bulk Carriers. And in 2013, with his previous law firm, Mark’s team was awarded the British Legal Awards ‘Commercial Team of the Year’ for advising Universal Music Group on a series of divestments following its acquisition of EMI Recorded Music.
