James has experience in a wide range of finance transactions, including ship and aviation finance, acquisition finance, refinancings and restructurings.  He also has experience in the structuring, formation, operation and financing of private funds.

James routinely represents private equity funds and other parties in cross-border and domestic corporate and commercial transactions involving the transportation industry, including joint ventures, equity investments, ship sales and purchases, and other similar transactions.

In addition, James has experience in mergers and acquisitions, asset securitization and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining Reed Smith, James was an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
