July 28, 2015, New York – Reed Smith LLP today announced its fourth straight appearance on Working Mother’s and Flex-Time Lawyers’ list of “Best Law Firms for Women.”
“Reed Smith is delighted to again be named among the nation’s 50 best law firms for women,” said Kit Chaskin, Director of the Women’s Initiative of Reed Smith (WINRS). “Our results for 2015 are well-aligned with our strategy of positioning women for leadership positions. Reed Smith ranked fourth nationally on management and fifth nationally on leadership education, business development and sponsorship. In addition, our ranking in terms of paid parental leave puts us among the top 10, thanks to our new, expanded policy in the United States.”
Each year, Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers collaborate to identify and recognize the law firms across the nation creating significant change in the legal industry through a commitment to women’s persistence and advancement in the profession. For 2015, the two organizations rated firms on a broad range of factors, including the representation of women; flexibility in women’s working conditions; women’s roles in leadership; women’s compensation; and the advancement of women firmwide, as well as each firm’s development and retention of women attorneys.
Reed Smith’s selection in 2015 was based on achievements affecting its female attorneys in the United States as of December 2014.
Reed Smith and other “2015 Best Law Firms for Women” will be honored at a Gala Awards Luncheon October 29, at The Peninsula Chicago.
Reed Smith also earned another top ranking in the 2015 Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) certification process. The firm is one of only two firms in the United States that has met all six criteria for Gold Standard Certification every year that WILEF has been ranking law firms.
