PHILADELPHIA – Luke Debevec was the recipient of an Influencer of Law award from the Philadelphia Inquirer, in the Insurance Recovery category. Luke, a partner in the firm’s Insurance Recovery Group was the lone attorney to be recognized in that category.

The Inquirer Influencers of Law awards recognize attorneys who are shaping and leading the legal industry as well as serving communities in the Philadelphia region. Luke was honored for his commitment to delivering for his clients, his perseverance in practicing law while living with a disability, and his diligent advocacy for marginalized communities. As an insurance recovery attorney, Luke represents policyholders and their captives in insurance and reinsurance coverage cases and arbitrations from inception through resolution. 

Luke continues to practice following a diagnosis of epilepsy in 2013, and has worked with others to co-found and guide LEADRS (Looking for Excellence and Advancement of Disabled individuals at Reed Smith), a Business Inclusion Group within Reed Smith’s Diversity and Inclusion program. LEADRS strives to support and enhance the professional, personal, and career development of attorneys and employees with disabilities of all types, physical and mental. His advocacy includes service as a member of Reed Smith’s Global Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee since 2016 and membership on the Philadelphia office’s Diversity Recruiting Committee since 2017. He also led the effort that culminated in Reed Smith joining the United Nation’s Global Compact in 2017.
