Deirdre provides support to the Business & Finance group and the Litigation group where she concentrates on the defense of clients in the financial sector. Deirdre also provides support drafting documents for transactional attorneys, specifically leases and lease amendments as well as reviewing and revising contracts and agreements for a variety of clients.
Deirdre joined Reed Smith in 2017, bringing with her twenty years of legal experience. She worked to represent at-risk children in dependency and delinquency hearings, as well as served as assistant general counsel at a title company, responsible for solving underwriting issues, clearing title, drafting documents, and attending to any compliance issues that arose. Previously, Deirdre was employed at a Pittsburgh general practice firm as a member of the Business and Real Estate Transaction Team. She primarily focused on real estate closings and commercial transactions, negotiating, reviewing and drafting agreements and contracts, creating and dissolving small-business entities, advising small businesses on employment matters, tax consequences, bankruptcy options, and legal strategies. She also represented small businesses and individuals in civil litigation matters including employment issues, breach of contract claims, non-compete issues, mortgage foreclosures, and lease violations.
Deirdre volunteers her time at the HELP Clinic on Pittsburgh’s South Side, assisting indigent people with legal advice.
