Nate practices in the area of affirmative action, focusing on OFCCP and EEO compliance, including preparation and interpretation of statistical analyses as to personnel activity and compensation/pay equity, investigation of complaints of discrimination, preparation of pay studies and investigation reports, and preparation of other compliance submissions.
Prior to joining the Labor & Employment Group, Nate was a member of the firm's Records & E-Discovery Group, where he conducted and supervised all phases of document review projects, from collection and initial search terms preparation to document review and production, and privilege log preparation. He also interfaced with the firm’s litigation teams on substantive and administrative needs related to e-discovery and assisted with deposition and trial preparation. He has been involved in discovery for litigation and arbitration matters involving commercial, patent, finance, environmental, and antitrust issues, and for regulatory matters in the finance and healthcare areas.
Additionally, Nate assisted the Records & E-Discovery Group in developing efficiency in its document review processes by leveraging his technical expertise to enhance existing processes and to develop, test, and implement new technologies. He also provided technical training and assistance to e-discovery attorneys on various software platforms used by the Records & E-Discovery Group.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Nate was a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the area of structurally-defined laminates.
