Sarah approaches solving her clients’ issues as their partner. She regularly works alongside in-house lawyers, risk-control stakeholders, and operational professionals to design impactful solutions that both effectively mitigate risk and function in harmony with business operations to drive and retain value.
Her practice focuses in the areas of anti-corruption, regulatory, compliance, and litigation matters for clients such as hospitals and hospital systems; medical device, pharmaceutical, and biological manufacturers; Part B DMEPOS suppliers; pharmacy chains; and other related companies in the life sciences and health care space.
In addition, Sarah represents health systems, academic medical centers, and medical device manufacturers and suppliers in complex litigation and government investigations involving the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Stark Law. Sarah brings to the table a sophisticated understanding of information technology systems and business processes that allows her to harness her clients’ data to prepare defensive behavior models and potential damages estimations.
Sarah believes strongly in using her legal skills to help those in need and is an avid supporter of pro bono work. She serves on Reed Smith’s national Pro Bono Committee and is the co-chair of the Dallas Pro Bono Committee. She has represented veterans, criminal defendants, and adults and children seeking asylum or protection under the Violence Against Women Act. Her pro bono work has resulted in opportunities for advocacy at all levels, including the Texas Supreme Court and United States Supreme Court.
