James is a partner in the Financial Industry Group. He specialises in both cross-border and domestic structured finance and derivatives and advises all types of market participants including arrangers, note issuers and corporate service providers, swap counterparties, corporate trustees, servicers, investors, lenders and borrowers on securitisations, derivative transactions, MTN programmes, master trust programmes, debt capital markets, restructurings, regulatory-driven insurance-linked securities, SIVs, CDOs and other structured credit products.
In addition, James has been directly involved in many matters relating to the Lehman Brothers insolvencies including large-scale restructurings of Lehman-arranged structured finance transactions as well as advising counterparties throughout the bankruptcy process from the decision to terminate transactions, the valuation and filing of claims, in disputes stemming from the claims, as well as providing advice on the settlement and sale of claims.
During his career James has also been seconded to The Bank of New York Mellon, Goldman Sachs, Fidelity International, Dresdner Kleinwort and Lehman Brothers where was placed in both front office and legal functions providing cross-jurisdictional and inter-departmental advice.
