Terry is a counsel specializing in Admiralty law, dealing mainly with marine casualties, including collision, salvage, pollution and unsafe ports. He has been involved in many of the headline cases in recent years. Terry was based in Hong Kong from 1995 until August 2019 and has traveled extensively within Asia, attending casualty investigations, governmental inquiries and speaking engagements.
He is a qualified to practice law as a solicitor in both England and Hong Kong and formerly sat on the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Maritime Law Association.
He is a co-author of the Admiralty chapter of the first (2013) and second (2018) editions of Bullen & Leake & Jacob’s Precedents of Pleadings (Hong Kong edition) and the Salvage Law chapter in the first (and the forthcoming second) edition of Sweet & Maxwell’s Maritime Law and Practice in Hong Kong.
